Ingredients

      1 cup Almonds

      ¾ cup milk

      ¾ cup sugar

      ¼ cup desi ghee

      3-4 strands of saffron (optional)

      ½ tsp cardamom powder

 

Recipe

Soak almonds in water overnight or at least for 4 hours. Peel the skin off the soaked almonds. Add the peeled, soaked almonds into a mixie jar. Next, add sugar, saffron strands (optional), and cardamom powder. Mix it well and add milk to the mixture. Grind into a coarse paste. 

Now, put a thick-bottomed pan on the stove and add 2 tbsp of ghee. Once the ghee melts, add the almond paste. Keep the flame medium-low and cook while stirring continuously. Gradually, the halwa will turn liquid. Keep adding more ghee and cook while stirring continuously. Over time, the halwa will combine into a whole mass. 

Your halwa is ready to serve when it stops sticking to the pan. Switch off the flame and serve hot. You can also refrigerate the halwa for about four days.

Dry Fruits Laddoo

      7-8 dates deseeded chopped

      ¼ cup raisins

      3 dried apricots

Recipe

Roughly cut raisins and apricots. Add chopped dates, raisins, and apricots into a mixer bowl and grind into a coarse paste. Also, grind the almonds, cashews, and pistachios. Add cardamom powder and keep the mixture aside. 

After this, put a pan on the stove and add a tbsp of ghee. Add the mixture of nuts and ground dates. Now, fry on a low-medium flame for about 2-3 minutes. Switch off the flame once the dates turn soft. Let it cool for a while.

Soak chopped dates in water for a while to turn soft. Add cashews, chopped dates, and half of coconut milk in a mixer and blend into a smooth mix. Put a pan on the stove and add the blended mix. 

Cook the mix on medium-low flame for 3-5 minutes. Now, lower the flame and add the remaining coconut milk. Cook for 5 minutes by stirring continuously. Gradually, the paste will thicken and acquire a creamy consistency. Switch off the flame and add some ghee. Let it cool a little, and serve.
